Bill Strickler Is The 2009 NFFC Primetime Champion

Postby Tom Kessenich » Tue Dec 29, 2009 2:36 am

Congratulations to Bill Strickler who took home the title in the NFFC Primetime event this year.

Bill entered the playoffs as the No. 1 team in the Primetime and his team maintained its standout production throughout the three-week postseason run. His final big week was led by Donovan McNabb's 35 points and Wes Welker's 26.8.

Congratulations again to Bill for being our 2009 NFFC Primetime champion and the winner of our $40,000 grand prize.

Congrads Bill. Great season. We came into week 16 in 3rd behind you by 30 points. Went for the win by benching McNabb for Eli (because we cant make up points on you with McNabb also) and we kept Maclin on the bench for Bess on the premise that we needed a bad McNabb game. Benching McNabb ended up costing us 2nd, but there was no combination of players we could have used that would have caught you this weekend.

By going 213, 177, 177 in the three playoff weeks after finishing 12th overall in the regular season, there is no doubt that the best team won.

Congrads again,
MARC

CONGRATULATIONS BILL!!!

Wow, another great champion has been crowned in the NFFC. Bill is a die-hard NFBC and NFFC veteran who was worried about his participation in our football event when we decided not to return to Florida this year. But he was glad to see that we offered the Phone/Online option and jumped into both NFFC main events, winning the $40,000 grand prize in the NFFC Primetime. He was one of 16 owners who led teams into both Championship Rounds.

Team Strickler entered the Championship Round with the 12th most points, 1,888.40 points. Team Strickler jumped into the lead after Week 14 with a high score of 213.85 points. Team Strickler then had the sixth highest point total in Week 15 with 177.0 and then concluded a fantastic playoff run in Week 16 with a high score of 177.2 points. Posting the high score in two of the three Championship Round weeks is definitely the way to take home the grand prize. GREAT JOB BILL!!

Bill joins Dave Gerczak of Appleton, Wisconsin as our NFFC Primetime champions!! Great champions indeed!!

Kudos to Darren Fecich for his runner-up finish. Darren led the NFFC Primetime during the regular season and almost went wire-to-wire there. Darren is from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania and he had one helluva fantasy football season across many contests.

Also kudos to Dave Gerczak, who didn't give up his crown easily. Dave had two teams qualify for the NFFC Primetime Championship Round and they finished sixth and seventh overall. Great job once again Dave.

Bill Strickler Is The 2009 NFFC Primetime Champion

Postby Greg Ambrosius » Wed Dec 30, 2009 3:01 am

Both of our main event champions drafted out of the No. 1 spot this year. Bill Strickler won the $40,000 NFFC Primetime title from the #1 spot in the Phone/Online League 4, even though he didn't win a league title. Team Strickler finished second with a 9-4 record and 1,888.3 points. His points were second in the league and 12th overall through the regular season.

But Team Strickler was unbeatable during the Championship Round as it had the high point total in Weeks 14 and 16. Congrats Bill for a solid, solid season.

Here is Team Strickler's original draft:

1. Adrian Peterson
2. Wes Welker
3. Vincent Jackson (3RR)
4. Reggie Bush
5. Donovan McNabb
6. Dallas Clark
7. Bernard Berrian
8. Chester Taylor
9. Kellen Winslow Jr.
10. Pittsburgh
11. Willis McGahee
12. Jamaal Charles
13. Eli Manning
14. Jeremy Maclin
15. Chansi Stuckey
16. Green Bay
17. Mike Goodson
18. Rob Bironas
19. Michael Vick
20. Michael Crabtree

His biggest free agent pickups were Jerome Harrison after Week 2, Alex Smith and Derek Anderson.
